1. Tardar Sauce aka Grumpy Cat

Grumpy cat rose to stardom in 2012, and before she knew it, her adorable yet grumpy mug was all over the internet. She may have been one of the most famous cats in recent history. Tardar Sauce had a form of dwarfism and an underbite, giving her a grumpy appearance. According to her owners, she was an incredibly happy girl. Tardar Sauce died at age seven from complications of a urinary tract infection in May 2019.

2. Lil Bub

Lil Bub captured the heart of millions with her unique appearance. She had a rare form of dwarfism that stunted her growth. Her limbs were shorter than normal, and her bottom jaw was abnormally short, making her adorable little cat tongue hang out.

However, She suffered from a bone disorder called Osteopetrosis, and Lil Bub died at the age of eight when she ultimately lost a battle to a bone infection in December of 2019.

3. Tommaso

Tommaso is a stray cat who wandered the streets of Rome until he met a woman named Maria Assunta. Tommaso captured Maria’s heart and quickly became spoiled beyond his wildest imagination.

As it turns out, Maria Assunta was a very wealthy woman, and when she died at the age of 94, Tommaso the cat was left with an inheritance of $10 million. Making him the world’s wealthiest cat and becoming one of the most heartwarming stories of very poor to very rich.

4. Tabby and Dixie

Many believe that Abraham Lincoln was the best President to ever sit in the oval office. The 16^th American President was also a cat lover. The secretary of state at the time gifted two cats, Tabby and Dixie, to the President. These cats went on to live a spoiled life.

When people talk about the President and his cats, one story often told is of Tabby wandering into a dinner the President and his wife were hosting for high-ranking Government officials. The President feeds the beloved Tabby from his plate, much to his wife’s embarrassment.

5. All Ball

Everyone knows Koko, the gorilla. She learned to communicate with humans using sign language, and Koko learned over 2,000 words and over 1,000 signs. Koko asked for a pet, a cat in particular. A male Manx kitten was given to Koko, and she immediately loved the tiny kitten. Taking care of the kitten, Koko named him ‘All Ball’ and loved him like he was her own baby.

Unfortunately, All Ball escaped from Koko’s enclosure after a year and got hit by a car. Koko expressed extreme sadness at the loss of her beloved All Ball.

6. Tibbles

Tibbles belonged to a New Zealand lighthouse keeper named David Lyall. Tibbles moved to Stephen Island with his owner for work. Stephen Island was the last home of the Wren bird, an endangered species. Tibbles was a ferocious hunter and, over the course of a year, wiped out the Wren bird species.

David Lyall didn’t realize that his little hunter was bringing him Wren birds, the last of their kind in the world. David was excited to see a new species of bird he had never encountered before. He sent off one of the bird’s bodies Tibbles had given him as a gift to an ornithologist. The Wren bird was considered a new species and then shortly extinct thanks to Tibbles and his hunting of them.

While not a real cat, you can’t deny the fame of the beloved orange cat Garfield. He was created in 1978 by Jim Davis. Garfield is known for his insatiable appetite for lasagna, his disdain for Mondays, and his overall laziness many cats can relate to.

Garfield also enjoys teasing his owner Jon and his dopey pet dog, Odie. Despite this, Garfield cares for Odie and Jon, but his most beloved teddy bear Pooky is often seen in his arms or by his side.

This hairless Sphinx cat rose to fame as Dr. Evil’s cat in the Austin Power movies. Originally, Mr. Bigglesworth resembled Blofeld’s cat, a typical white Persian cat from the James Bond films. But after a SNAFU during his cryogenic freezing process, he no longer had his long white fur.

Ted Nude-Gent was a big fan of Mike Myers, often making Mike late for shooting scenes since everyone knows you don’t wake them up when a cat is comfortably sleeping on your lap. Not even if you are Mike Myers.

9. Meow

Meow was the world’s most overweight cat. Meows’ owner was an elderly lady who could no longer care for him and turned him into a shelter. Meow weighed in at a whopping 39.6 pounds. A healthy adult cat should weigh between 8 to 10 pounds.

The shelter put Meow on a diet and made his case public in hopes of finding him a loving forever home. Unfortunately, Meow passed away from lung failure after experiencing breathing problems.

10. Oscar

Oscar was an incredible therapy cat living at a Rhode Island nursing home. Oscar had the uncanny ability to predict when a patient was about to pass away. He was so accurate that when the nurses saw Oscar cuddling up to someone in bed, they would immediately call the family to come and say their final goodbyes to their loved ones.

Oscar was said to have predicted more than 50 deaths in the six months he lived in the nursing home.
